I made this card for my father-in-law who’s recovering from knee replacement surgery. Since it’s almost baseball season and he’s a big Chicago Cubs fan, I thought it would be just the thing to cheer him up a bit.
He's one of the sweetest people you'll meet, and I hope it's a reminder for him of how much we are all thinking of him and love him. 🙂
The neat thing about our box cards is that they fold flat to fit inside their envelopes.
And when they’re opened up, they’re really dimensional. An easy “wow-factor” project.
This card is part of our Father’s Day Box Cards SVG Kit.
The stamp on the front is from the Congrats All Around stamp set by Mama Elephant. The stamp on the back is from the Everyday Sayings stamp set by Hero Arts.
To make this project, I used:
- 9x4 piece of metallic silver paper
- 11x5 piece of white card stock
- 10x4 piece of red card stock
- 12x10 piece of tan card stock
- 12x5 piece of green card stock
- 7x4 piece of royal blue card stock (jersey)
- 12x12 piece of royal blue card stock (envelope)
I inked the edges of most of the shapes with my go-to Cat's Eye ink pads by Colorbox and added as much dimension as possible using a ton of adhesive foam squares.
I cut it out using my Cricut Maker machine and the free online Cricut Design Space software. However, you could also make it using a wide variety of other cutting machines with software that supports SVG files, such as the Silhouette Cameo cutting machine with the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software or the Sizzix eclips2 cutting machine with eCal software (to name a few)!
If you like this project, you'll love the rest of the Father’s Day Box Cards SVG Kit!
Shop NowIt can be tough sitting around waiting on the healing process, and physical therapy sure isn't easy either.
I think a card like this is a nice reminder that we've almost made it through Winter too, which is a happy thought for us cold weather people. ☺️
Thanks for stopping by! Wishing you and yours all the best, and Happy Crafting! 🙂 ~Mary
