Instructions

  1. The card is made using two of the blank_space.svg pieces that can be found in the extras folder. Since this originally goes on the back of the Be Mine card, you will need to mirror this piece and the second one is mirrored up. These two pieces are aligned together and then welded to form the card base.
  2. Once the card base is made cut out all your pieces and assemble, the card base is a little smaller than the bottom, just center on top.
  3. For the banner I just glued the top hearts onto the scalloped hearts and then glued them onto a piece of twine.
  4. For the bag I took one of the hearts and placed it on the bag and did a compound path in SSDE to form the cutout.
  5. For the top scalloped heart, center the heart and the scalloped heart, then do a compound path to for a cutout that will be placed over the heart cutout on the bag.
  6. Cut out all your bag pieces, before assembling place a piece of acetate inside to cover the heart cutout and the rest of the pieces.
  7. For the ribbon on the top of the bag I ran a strip of tape from the glue gun and kept folding it to the glue strip, nothing fancy.

Design Tips

  • I usually ink up all my cut pieces with distress inks, if I can’t get into the corners I’ll use the matching distress marker.
  • If you noticed I made the bag smaller so I could use digital paper and do a print n cut that would fit in the margins.

I love making shaped cards; you can turn really any cut file into one. It’s a creative way to use some of your kits and collections. Also adding the heart cutout to the bag made it perfect for Valentines Day.
