Today, Michelle contacted me, trying to create the project you see here. To do that on a Windows computer, you can right-click on svgcuts-091614-lace-frame.zip and go to Extract All and follow the prompts. On a Mac computer, you can simply double-click on the zip file.<\/p>\n<p>Launch the Cricut Design Space software and sign in if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Click New Project,\u00a0Upload and then\u00a0Upload Image.<\/p>\n<p>Navigate to svgcuts-091614-lace-frame --&gt; Extras --&gt; Lace_Frame.svg and click OK if necessary and then Save.<\/p>\n<p>Select it under Recently Uploaded Images and click Insert Images.<\/p>\n<p>The two-layer design appears on your mat.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-25288\" src=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-05-at-2.10.02-PM.png\" alt=\"SVGCuts lace frame in Cricut Design Space\" width=\"600\" height=\"501\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-05-at-2.10.02-PM.png 655w, https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-05-at-2.10.02-PM-300x251.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With both layers selected, click Ungroup.<\/p>\n<p>Select the bottom layer and click the Attach button (lower right corner). This keeps the decorative lines together with the bottom layer.<\/p>\n<p>This brings the bottom layer to the top, so you drag them back into the correct order in the Layers window.<\/p>\n<p>Click the Text button and enter or paste your desired text (wait for it to load).<\/p>\n<p>Sample text:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Hi Isabella!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Yay, another tooth for me!<br \/>\nThank you! You do a super<br \/>\njob brushing. Keep it up!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I left a surprise for you.<br \/>\nBy the way, I love your<br \/>\nsoft blankets!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Your Tooth Fairy<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">P.S. I dropped my wand.<br \/>\nSilly me! If you find it, you<br \/>\nmay keep it. I have more.<br \/>\nSee you next time!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Change font size to something small like 10. Move the text on top of the oval. Change the alignment to Center instead of Left.<\/p>\n<p>Click the scissor icon in the Text layer in the Layers window and select Print (instead of Cut). Instead of a scissors icon, it should now show a printer icon.<\/p>\n<p>To center the text precisely, you can select\u00a0all,\u00a0then use \"Center Horizontally\" and \"Center Vertically\" in the Align menu.<\/p>\n<p>With all selected, I changed the height of my design to 5.5\" (slightly larger than the default size).<\/p>\n<p>Next, change the font to something that\u2019s under \u201cSystem\u201d in the drop-down menu to use a font that you already have on your computer (free) or you can purchase fonts from Cricut. I'm using Arial, which is already on my computer.<\/p>\n<p>Adjust Line Space value if necessary.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-25291\" src=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-05-at-2.35.06-PM.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2018-02-05 at 2.35.06 PM\" width=\"600\" height=\"521\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-05-at-2.35.06-PM.png 614w, https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-05-at-2.35.06-PM-300x260.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019re happy with the placement and style of the text inside the oval,\u00a0select the text layer and the oval layer and click Flatten.<\/p>\n<h3>Let's Make It!<\/h3>\n<p>Next, click Make It,\u00a0click Continue and then\u00a0click Send To Printer.<\/p>\n<p>Make sure your printer is on and selected in the Printer drop-down menu (mine is shown below - yours will probably be different), and click Print.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-25292\" src=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-05-at-2.38.05-PM.png\" alt=\"print dialog box cricut design space\" width=\"600\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-05-at-2.38.05-PM.png 778w, https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-05-at-2.38.05-PM-300x183.png 300w, https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-05-at-2.38.05-PM-768x468.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Next, place the printed sheet on your cutting mat in the top left corner.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25293\" src=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/tooth-fairy-text-mat.jpg\" alt=\"tooth-fairy-text-mat\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/tooth-fairy-text-mat.jpg 600w, https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/tooth-fairy-text-mat-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then on-screen, choose your material (in my case it is Copy Paper).<\/p>\n<p>Load your mat and press the Go button.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25294\" src=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/cutting-oval.jpg\" alt=\"cutting-oval\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/cutting-oval.jpg 600w, https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/cutting-oval-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The machine cuts an oval shape.<\/p>\n<p>Unload your mat,\u00a0remove printed oval, and set it aside.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25295\" src=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/cut-oval.jpg\" alt=\"cut-oval\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/cut-oval.jpg 600w, https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/cut-oval-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Load your mat with paper of your choice for bottom layer (**change on-screen material type if necessary, for example, to card stock**) and press the Go button. The\u00a0machine cuts the bottom lace layer.<\/p>\n<p>Unload your mat, remove the bottom lace layer affix the top layer to the bottom layer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25297\" src=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/tooth-fairy-note-svgcuts.jpg\" alt=\"tooth-fairy-note-svgcuts\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/tooth-fairy-note-svgcuts.jpg 600w, https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/tooth-fairy-note-svgcuts-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you're using copy paper like I did for my printed oval, you may want to use something like double-sided tape instead of glue, which tends to wrinkle the paper.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-25299\" src=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/mary-svgcuts-thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"mary-svgcuts-thumbnail\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/mary-svgcuts-thumbnail.jpg 250w, https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/mary-svgcuts-thumbnail-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/svgcutsblog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/mary-svgcuts-thumbnail-200x200.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That's it!
