Q&A

Q. Who or what inspires you?

A. My inspiration to create depends on what's going on in my world at any point in time. The season, a holiday, someone's birthday . . . the worst part of it is when an idea comes to mind and I'm not able to create it right then and there. Especially when I'm laying in bed staring at the ceiling and think of things I want to create, but am unable to do it right at that moment because the cutter will wake my husband.

Q. What is your favorite craft tool?

A. I'm inclined to say my credit card, as nothing would be created without using it first. But seriously, I'd have to say my computer, as it is what brings me the major elements to enable all my other tools to do their job.

Q. What is your favorite season or holiday for crafting?

A. Halloween/Fall. Fall is my favorite time of the year, and Halloween, OH the colors and designs! I have ceramic houses, you know the ones from Michael's, and absolutely love setting them up then adding SVGCuts elements to them.

Q. What got you into paper crafting?

A. I've always been into CRAFTING, counted cross stitch, crewl work, stamping. Honestly, I got into paper crafting when my son was doing an autobiography project for school and he came to me with some photos and I couldn't recall when and where we were, I knew I had to get organized, so started scrapbooking. From there I branched into cards and then somehow I stumbled upon SVGcuts in 2009 and the flood gates opened. I've been addicted ever since.

Q. When did you start crafting?

A. I guess it must have been sometime around 1998 or 1999.

Q. What is your favorite type of project?

A. It depends on the kit I guess? I have over 350 of the kits and there are some I've never made anything from and others I've made everything. If I had to choose, I'd say the 3D, as they seem to get the best reaction from people when they are given them or they see them in my home or on my Facebook posts, and of course, they are usually multi functional, as a gift box and then a decoration after. Funny note, when my husband saw the lighthouse keepers box I made and I showed him how the top lifts off he said 'I've determined that all of their things have a top that lifts off'.

Q. What is your favorite SVGCuts kit or collection?

A. Again, another toughy. Can I pick two, Midnight Jamboree and Toil and Trouble. Love all the vintage and versatility of both of these kits. But really, to answer this question I had to go through my collection many times before I could narrow down to those two.
