Who doesn't love getting homemade cards? How about giving a gift box full of hand-crafted cards? I took the recipe card box which comes with little dividers and created three different types of cards. You can also add categories for your cards on the tabs. So cool!

Instructions

  1. Start by cutting out the box elements and assemble. Add the handle. I secured with brads from Bo Bunny and added twine from Trendy Twine. Add the ”for you” cut and rosette. Add buttons and other embellishments.
  2. Cut the three dividers for inside the box. You can write the theme of the cards on the tabs if you like. I added some cute paper clips.
  3. Cut, ink and assemble card 1. This is the bicycle card. I added some brads and flair from Paper Play Studio. I did not add a sentiment to this card – you can add that on the inside by handwriting or stamping. Cut your envelope to match.
  4. Cut, ink and assemble the hello card which is card 2. Once again I added brads and a butterfly button. Add foam tape behind the hello and honeycomb cuts to add dimension. Also cut your envelopes in coordinating colors.
  5. Cut, ink and assemble card 3. Add buttons and Trendy Twine to accent. You can write the sentiment on the back of the card. Cut the envelope for this one.

Design Tips

  • I used a corrugate stock for the card box. I picked it up at a crop and placed the ridge side down on the mat ~ any type of card stock will work perfect for this project.
  • I carried the same color scheme throughout the project so everything has a uniform look.
  • Don’t forget to ink your edges and add some twine to add texture. Foam tape is always good to make your elements pop. Add some buttons from your stash.

Get busy and make some Card Boxes for your friends and family. Your creations may travel all around the world!
