Cheryl's Corner - Party Time Take Out Box

I just love this box! When I saw it, my first thought was, oh, a party in a box! So I set out to gather images for a birthday party. This would be so fun filled with lots of goodies, maybe even some money or a gift card. I used lots of fun, bright papers from K&Company.

Dimensions

Here are the exact shapes and colors I used. Size to the dimensions shown below with "Keep Proportions" checked in the Shape Properties window, unless otherwise noted.

Instructions

1. Open the take_out_box.svg in SCAL. Highlight and break apart. Delete all the tic marks for where to score and fold. I don't like these showing on my projects. If you don't care, you don't need to do this step. It is easy to see where you need to fold when you look back at the PDF. Regroup so you don't lose the tiny holes for your brad. Tip: After you break apart, if you "lock" the main box shape, it is much easier to go after all those tic marks but leave the holes and slit for closing. Unlock and regroup so you don't lose the tiny holes.
2. Cut the 4 large labels. Two of them will fit on the wider sides. The other two I laid on the narrower side and marked how much to trim off each  edge to make it fit right. I wanted the labels on all sides.
3. Begin to cut all your elements and assemble. I did lots of inking and white gel pens. Add whatever bling you like. Now would be the time to use your Cuttlebug if you'd like more texture. This is what makes your project go to the  next level.
4. Attach your ribbon or wire handle. Begin to put all your elements onto your box. I used dimensionals for added depth.

• When I did the sentiment on the box, I broke it apart because I wanted it in two pieces instead of one long one. Be sure when you break it apart that you go back and regroup each word separately. Then I copied and pasted each word to make the shadow/blackout layer.
• I used scor tape to put my box together. It is very aggressive and holds well for boxes you will be putting things in.
• The designer papers I used are from K&Company. One is Confetti and the other is Life's Little Occasions. You could use what ever you like. Design for the occasion. These would be fun as centerpieces on tables at a party. Coordinate a theme.
