For those of you that don't know me very well, in 2009 I made my creative debut on the SVGCuts forum by entering in a Christmas Challenge. My project was Christmas Crackers, using the free Christmas Cracker file from SVGCuts. I love this file - it offers so much versatility. Here, I put a twist on these festive crackers and made them SPOOKY!
SVG Collections Used:
Salazar's Scary Squares
Spooky Silhouettes
Dreadful Halloween Cupcake Wrappers
Monster Mash SVG Collection
Hazel's Wicked Witch Crafts SVG Collection
Bella's Halloween Strips SVG Collection
Dimensions
Here are the exact shapes, sizes and colors I used. Size to the dimensions shown below with “Keep Proportions” checked in the Shape Properties window unless otherwise noted with height dimensions.

Design Tips
- To add spooky feel to the project, I inked the edges with silver ink on black cardstock, and black ink on the cut outs.
- Instead of adding cardstock behind the silhouette (if you choose to do Hallowe'en silhouette, between Salazar's Scary Squares SVG Collection and Spooky Silhouettes SVG Collection, you can get 13 silhouettes), you can substitute the back with vellum or acetate, which would be see through - and fill them with candies!
- Instead of using silhouettes, you can repeat a cut file (like my skull cracker) or create your own by combining files (I added cauldron, beaker, bottles, and bubbles on one cracker)
- The barrel portion, instead of silhouette, you can emboss it (like my Christmas crackers) and then add cut outs to the middle for an accent (for example, it would be cute to put 13 characters from Halloween Cuddly Friends and the free Cuddly Ghost file on each cracker)
- I added strips/borders and adhered them, but you can weld ribbon/strip cut files and weld them to the edge of the crackers in SCAL, too (like my Christmas crackers).
- Tie the crackers with ribbons, twine, fibers, even accent it with a tag - anything goes! You can also add a 3-D object (like my spider), rhinestones, pearls, glitter - as long as you can adhere them, go for it!
- With some creativity (altering colors and cut files that correspond to various seasons), one can make dinner crackers for any season/occasion!
