I just love the Mariposa Stack by DCWV with its vintage butterfly and garden themes.  It's just what I need to see - I'm so ready for Spring!!  Lately I've stopped wearing my winter hat, hoping I can single-handedly hurry Spring along.  It's working!!  I used a few of our Breezy Meadow Butterflies and some of our daffodils as well (a freebie from our blog) to coordinate with the gorgeous spring blooms in these photos.

Dimensions

Here are the exact shapes, sizes and colors I used.  Use the Keep Proportions option to keep the shapes' proportions while sizing each to the width or height given below.

Design Tips

  • I ran the "our family" and the stitched frame through our Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder to add some interest.
  • I used 3D dots (pop dots or Zots) underneath the butterflies and daffodils to make them stand out.
  • Also, rubbing an ink pad around each shape takes extra time, but is well worth it.  I rubbed a brown ink pad around the edges of every shape, even the background papers.
  • I used a stamp that I got from Santa (not sure where it's from), but there are so many great stamps and rub-ons that would work for this.  Or you could even journal about the photos and give a location and date and write a little blurb.

Paper Suggestions

  • I used paper from the Mariposa Stack by DCWV for all the printed paper.
  • For solid color cardstock I used AC Cardstock.  This is my fave solid color cardstock because of its texture, its solid-color core (not white-core) and because of how clean it always cuts for me.
